Blogaversary, kind of

I didn't write about this because i either found it too depressing or, more likely, i was in denial, but sometime last fall, the tiny oak tree died.
But instead of tossing it out i just left it there, a bare little stick in my window, looking all sad and naked without its beautiful leaves.
I figured it could just be a fall thing, trees do tend to drop their leaves around that time, right?
It didn't look too good though, but i still don't think i even considered throwing it out.

Well, it's a good thing i'm as stubborn as i am sentimental, because a few weeks ago, the day after we returned from Japan actually, it came alive again!
It started with a little green dot on the stem, that in almost no time turned into two gorgeous oak leaves.
They're placed lower than the previous ones, but they look strong!

He's back!
This is how sentimental i am; i kept the dead leaves in a box!

This is my 1000th post by the way.
I haven't figured out how to do my Japan contest (not a giveaway!) yet, but that would have been a great way to mark the occasion, right?
Instead you get an acorn that turned into a very small tree.
Not truly epic, but not too bad either!

1000...

Here's what i was doing two years ago today, when the blog was still brand new.
